Within the framework of the "ZAEV Social-Humanitarian Program" by undertaking social and humanitarian activities to support the community through assistance (material and non-material) to vulnerable categories of citizens and improving the lives of vulnerable people in the community, marking

20 February - World Day of Social Justice

Celebrating World Day of Social Justice on 20 February, declared by the United Nations General Assembly as a day dedicated to the fight against poverty, unemployment and equality. Having in mind that the purpose of marking this day is to promote solidarity, equality and equity, will be realized a mapping of the territory of the municipality of Strumica, which would include different target groups of families and individuals (young and adults). The purpose of the mapping is to make an objective analysis by summarizing the results of the target groups in terms of age, gender, and profession (whether they are respondents who are employed, but with very low incomes; whether they are respondents who are unemployed but are active job seekers or they are not included in the labour market at all either as employees or as an active job seeker) and work experience (do the respondents have the qualifications to be included in the labour market in case of unemployed respondents). After the completion of this mapping, within the “ZAEV Social-Humanitarian Program”, the ultimate goal will be the preparation of a Social-Inclusive map which will be a roadmap with the undertaken specific activities (such as assistance in the professional qualification of respondents from the target groups, assistance through a job recommendation to the respondents from the target groups, advisory assistance to the respondents from the target groups). The above-mentioned activities should result in the reduction of poverty among the target groups through their social inclusion in the social processes, with a focus on building a fair and truly humane society.

 

19 August - World Humanitarian Day

Celebrating World Humanitarian Day on 19 August, declared by the United Nations General Assembly, designated in memory of the 19 August 2003 bomb attack in Baghdad, Iraq. The celebration of this day will be in honour of all humanitarian workers who lost their lives for humanitarian purposes but also aim to increase the public’s desire to support humanitarian activities. Therefore, it will be marked by a series of activities in the form of donations of humanitarian aid in clothing, water, food and personal hygiene items, as solidarity assistance to the population of Ukraine. In the before-mentioned context, the International Day of Charity on 5 September, declared by the United Nations General Assembly, chosen to commemorate the anniversary of the passing away of Mother Teresa of Calcutta, who received the Nobel Peace, celebrated in recognition of her enormous humanitarian work as the most famous missionary in the world.

5 September - International Day of Charity

The International Day of Charity is an international day observed annually on 5 September. It was declared by the United Nations General Assembly in 2012. The prime purpose of the International Day of Charity is to raise awareness and provide a common platform for charity related activities all over the world for individuals, charitable, philanthropic and volunteer organizations for their own purposes on the local, national, regional and international level.

20 November - World Children's Day

Celebrating World Children’s Day on 20 November, which is the day when the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child, but also the date when the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Among other activities, this program will be committed to improving the conditions for the growth and development of children, given the fact that each child’s first years are crucial in building personality. Using an inclusive approach in which children from vulnerable categories will be included, one of the first activities in this program will be the release of the playgrounds for the children in the village of Rich, located near the municipality of Strumica, in the south-eastern part of North Macedonia.

5 December - International Volunteer Day

Celebrating International Volunteer Day on 5 December, declared by the United Nations General Assembly to recognize and promote the invaluable impact that volunteer activities have on the community and society. This day will be marked with an activity that will include assistance in the homes (material or/and non-material) of vulnerable categories of citizens, in which anyone who has the opportunity and the will, can have the opportunity to join and be a volunteer. This action aims to raise awareness of the volunteers’ tireless work and their contribution to a better society, inspired only by free will, and not by the desire for material or financial gain. In this context will be marked also the International Human Solidarity Day on 20 December, declared by the United Nations General Assembly, which has identified solidarity as one of the fundamental and universal values ​​on which to establish relationships between people.

20 December - International Human Solidarity Day

International Human Solidarity Day, December 20 (International Human Solidarity Day, December 20), declared by the General Assembly of the United Nations, which identified solidarity as one of the basic and universal values on which relations between people should be based.

The program will be implemented through the following initiatives:

  • Justice Journey Storytelling Corners: Designate cozy, welcoming corners where individuals can share their personal stories of seeking justice, overcoming challenges and making a difference.
  • Interactive Street Art and Community Murals: Install temporary street art pieces that invite public interaction where people can write their own messages of justice, hope and solidarity, while collaborating with local artists to create large-scale murals on prominent community buildings.
  •  Solidarity Festival: Organize festival around themes of unity, resilience and community, while including performances from diverse cultural groups, local musicians and community choirs, each representing different aspects of solidarity. Possibility of creating a “Solidarity Wall” where festival-goers can write their pledges to support community unity and leave messages of solidarity.
  • Daily Themes and Challenges: Assign specific themes for each day of the week, such as "Feed the Hungry", "Support Education", "Environmental Action", etc., while providing daily challenges and tips to inspire participants.
  • Impact Tracking and Stories: Use the web site of the Foundation to track the collective impact of the implemented activities, such as the number of meals served or funds raised, also sharing stories and testimonials.
  • Reward System: Offer meaningful rewards and recognition for the most impactful contributions, such as certificates and opportunities to meet with charity leaders
  • Children’s Festival with Themed Zones: Create various themed zones within the festival, such as a Fantasy Land for storytelling sessions, a Science and Discovery area for interactive science exhibits, an Art Alley for workshops and a Performance Plaza for live performances.
  • Cultural Exchange Corner: Set up a cultural exchange corner where children from different countries can share their traditions through dance and music, fostering inclusivity and learning.
  • Mini Talent Show: Organize a talent show where children can perform and showcase their unique talents, while providing a supportive and encouraging environment with participation certificates for all and awards for the best.
  • Volunteer Passport: Provide the volunteers with a "Volunteer passport" that gets stamped at each voluntary activity they implement, offering rewards for the best who collect a certain number of stamps.
  • Random Acts of Kindness: Coordinate a series of random acts of kindness throughout the day, like leaving care packages for the homeless, surprising senior citizens with visits, or distributing flowers and thank-you notes to public service workers.
  • Volunteer Storytelling Gala for Awards and Recognition: Present awards for various categories such as "Most Impactful Volunteer", "Youth Volunteer of the Year" and "Innovative Volunteer Project", including stories behind each award to highlight their contributions.
