ZAEV Sports & Recreation Program 23-24

The “ZAEV - Sports & Recreation Program” aims to develop and promote sports through activities that create opportunities for sports engagement. This program includes the creation of the "ZAEV Moto Rally" and will coordinate its activities with the "ZAEV Public Health Awareness Program" in celebration of the following events

10 September - World Suicide Prevention Day

Having in mind that sport has a very important role in encouraging social interactivity and in building open communities, activities will be undertaken that will create sports habits among young people through discipline and teamwork. Through sports, young people will learn to create new networks of acquaintances with their peers from the region, in the spirit of healthy sports habits and acceptance of diversity, tolerance, respect for competition, competitive spirit and teamwork. These activities will be realized in honour of the celebration of World Suicide Prevention Day  on 10 September.

3 June - World Bicycle Day

Celebrating World Bicycle Day on 3 June, declared by the United Nations General Assembly to stimulate cycling as a source of social, economic and health benefits that bring people together. It will be marked by the organization of “Bike Week”, which will aim to stimulate increased awareness among citizens to use more and more non-polluting means of transport such as bicycles. This “Bike Week” will also mark the Ride4Women initiative, launched by several European doctors to raise awareness of the importance of preventing and early diagnosing cervical cancer by cycling long distances.

6 April - International Day of Sport for Development and Peace

The celebration of the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace on 6 April, declared by the United Nations General Assembly, will be followed by a marathon to promote peace through sport. All participants will be dressed in white T-shirts, and they will complete the planned trajectory by showing a white card – as a symbol of peace. With this symbolic moment, the participants will send a strong message for the protection of peace, common values ​​and the protection of fundamental freedoms and rights, understood by all citizens around the world, especially because of the recent turn of events in Ukraine.

The activities will be realized through the following initiatives:

Organizing inclusive sporting events that involve individuals of all ages and promote the importance of teamwork.

  • Collaborating with schools, local sports organizations, community centers, and disability advocacy groups to ensure accessibility and inclusiveness in event planning, raise awareness, and encourage participation among diverse communities;
  • Providing adaptive sports equipment and facilities to accommodate participants with different abilities;
  • Organizing a variety of sporting activities that cater to different age groups and skill levels, ensuring there are options for everyone to participate;
  • Creating a supportive and welcoming atmosphere by promoting teamwork, respect, and fair play among participants;
  • Establishing sports mentorship programs where athletes with disabilities can inspire and guide willing participants, fostering a sense of community and empowerment.

Launching "Sports Skill Challenges" to encourage participants to set personal goals and engage in regular physical activity.

  • Defining clear goals and parameters for sports skill challenges, such as specific durations, target activities, or milestones to be achieved;
  • Incorporating technology platforms, such as mobile applications or online platforms, to track participant progress and provide personalized feedback and support;
  • Providing rewards to participants who achieve their fitness goals, such as certificates, medals, or exclusive access to fitness resources or events;
  • Partnering with professional sports teams or organizations to provide guidance, exercise plans, and fitness advice throughout the challenge;
  • Identifying popular sports disciplines in the community and organizing workshops dedicated to improving specific skills in those sports;
  • Inviting athletes, coaches, or trainers to lead sports skill challenges and share their expertise;
  • Adapting sports skill challenges to accommodate different skill levels, from beginners to advanced athletes;
  • Providing practical training sessions and exercises to help participants practice and refine their skills.

Developing "Sports for Social Impact" as an activity that addresses social challenges.

  • Collaborating with local communities to organize sporting events or tournaments that raise awareness and funds for social causes, engaging participants in meaningful and impactful activities;
  • Organizing sports events or tournaments that promote gender equality and social inclusion, ensuring equal participation and opportunities for all;
  • Incorporating educational components into sports programs to raise awareness of social issues, promote values such as teamwork and respect, and encourage personal growth;
  • Integrating technology platforms into the Foundation's website that allow participants to track their social impact contributions, such as volunteer hours or donations, and provide incentives for their efforts. This encourages participants to actively contribute to social causes while participating in sports activities.
