The support and development of civil society is one of the key program activities of the “ZAEV – One Society for All” Foundation. As part of this commitment, our foundation recently supported the Organization of Women from Strumica. In collaboration with three civic organizations from Radovish, Demir Kapija, and Gostivar, the Organization conducted a four-day feminist camp for young female educators in the field of gender equality. This event was financially endorsed by an institutional grant from the Global Fund for Women.
Participants at the FEM Camp included members of the Organization of Women from Strumica, as well as representatives from “Women’s Action” (Zhenska akcija) in Radovish, “Women’s Lobby” (Zhensko lobi) in Demir Kapija, and “Initiative for Civil Integration” (Inicijativa za gragjanski integracii) in Gostivar. The main goals of the camp were to understand the concepts of feminism and gender equality and to learn about the mechanisms that allow the exercising of rights in the area of equal opportunities for men and women. Additionally, the camp aimed to connect participants from different regions of North Macedonia for further involvement in joint activities to affirm women’s rights and extend their representation in social spheres.
Supporting the civil sector remains one of the top priorities of our foundation. We hope that other non-governmental, non-party, and non-profit organizations, as well as socially responsible companies, will join us in this effort.
