People affected by cancer deserve proper attention, care, empathy, and humane treatment from all members of society. When we say “one society for all,” the word “all” includes these individuals alongside everyone else.
Following last year’s donation to the Association for Help and Support of Patients with Hematological and Oncological Diseases and Their Caregivers, “Hema-Onko” from Skopje, aimed at improving care for patients with malignancies, the “ZAEV – One Society for All” Foundation continues in the same spirit this year.
This time, our Foundation has donated financial resources to the SANO Association to support a humanitarian summer camp for children affected by cancer and their mothers. The camp aims to resocialize and provide psychological support and empowerment, and will take place in August at the Red Cross resort – Struga, “Solferino.” Ten children undergoing cancer treatment, their mothers, as well as volunteers from SANO and the Red Cross, will participate.
The one-week camp program includes psychological support and workshops to help overcome trauma caused by treatment; creative activities to improve the emotional state and self-confidence of the children; sports and recreational activities designed to foster teamwork and enjoyment; and educational sessions for mothers aimed at strengthening their caregiving capacities.
The goal is for children and their mothers, supported by experts and psychologists, to return to a more normal state, while feeling more content and accepted by those around them.
At the foundation, we say: “We continue to exist in the name of empathy, humanity, and a helping hand. Join us.”
