The “ZAEV – One Society for All” Foundation, now in its fourth year since establishment, has continuously supported all forms of art, including literary creation.
The Foundation’s latest contribution to the field of literature is the sponsorship of a new book by renowned Strumica-born and Macedonian poet Vanja Izova Veleva. The book, titled A Few Legends About Struma, is an updated version of the original publication from 2011.
According to Izova Veleva, “The purpose of this book is an attempt-bequest to present several legends about Struma, gathered in one place, underlining their connection with the ‘formation’ of the identity of the city of Strumica.”
Vanja Izova Veleva has been a member of the Writers’ Association of Macedonia for 30 years. She is the author of ten poetry collections and two prose works. Her poetry has been featured in literary magazines and anthologies and translated into English, French, Spanish, Polish, Russian, Bulgarian, Slovenian, and Serbian. She has received numerous domestic and international awards for her work.
