In celebration of the Day of the Macedonian Language on May 5, the “Zaev – One Society for All” foundation provided financial support for the creation of a four-part series entitled “Three Days in Lerin and Mala Prespa,” produced by the Racin.mk portal. The series is a high-quality, professionally-crafted collection of journalistic perspectives and firsthand accounts from a plethora of Macedonian and Greek interlocutors. These individuals discuss the rights of the Macedonian minority in Greece, the Macedonian language, and the persistent struggle to preserve its specificity. Additionally, the speakers explore the benefits of establishing the Macedonian Language Center and its legalization, viewing it as a historic triumph of the Macedonian people in Greece.
The first part of the series, “The Macedonian Language is an Unending Battle – About the Macedonian Language Center in Greece” is particularly noteworthy due to its relevance to the Prespa Agreement, a critical factor in designating the Macedonian language in Greece. The subsequent story, “The Prespa Agreement – a Connective Symbol Between Nations,” affirms the significance of this historical document. It is imperative that these stories receive widespread attention.
