Between November 25th and 29th, North Macedonia, specifically Strumica, hosted the 16th Junior Balkan Olympiad in Informatics, organized by the Association of Informatics of Macedonia in collaboration with the esteemed “Bistri Umovi” Association.
The “ZAEV – One Society for All” Foundation played a pivotal role as the principal sponsor of the Olympiad, providing financial support to the tune of 300,000 denars. In acknowledgment of this contribution, the organizers expressed their gratitude by presenting a recognition token to our foundation. This gesture was made during the closing ceremony by Professor Dr. Mile Jovanov, the chairman of the Olympiad, who extended a thank you plaque to Eva Zaeva, the representative of our foundation. Additionally, Zaeva had the honor of addressing the audience during this momentous occasion.
As our representative, Zaeva emphasized that she is “honored to extend the regards of our foundation’s director, Mr. Zoran Zaev, an ardent supporter of the youth and numerous initiatives, activities, and competitions fostering their development. Our commitment to aiding them stands as a pledge to our society and to all dedicated to the advancement of the Republic of North Macedonia. We envision this progress through the empowerment of our young generation.”
Concluding her speech, Eva Zaeva urged socially responsible corporations to emulate the foundation’s altruism and contribute generously to support the youth in their pursuit of ambitious goals.
Moreover, the 16th Junior Balkan Olympiad in Informatics attracted 64 contestants from 12 countries, including guests from Saudi Arabia, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, and Croatia. Notably, Macedonian computer scientists exhibited exceptional skills and secured one silver and four bronze medals. The “ZAEV – One Society for All” Foundation congratulates the winners and wishes them continued success at the forthcoming Olympiad in Cyprus.
